calorie question

Ok, so we count our calories each day. I have read that some do a weekly thing?
So if we go over a bit on a couples days during the week, and we are under a couple days during the week....does it all just equal out at the end of the week? Or should we be concentrating on not going over at all on any day?
I am hoping this makes sense.

    I personally try not to go over goal, even if it means I need to do an extra mile at the end of the day. Your weight loss is an accumulation of your efforts, so 1 day of eating above goal isn't necessarily a bad thing, but eating above goal regularly will keep your weight loss to a minimum at best and completely sabotage your efforts at worst.

    The rule I personally live by is: if I'm on track for 3 days before a big eat day and back on track for the next 3, and stay on track, no harm done. Basically, that translates to one big eat day a week and it should be on the same day each week. That's what works for me.

    i worry more about my weekly numbers, than daily. sometimes i only go over one day, somtimes i go over a few days...but i really only focus on my net weekly goal

    If you go over one day and are under the next consider it calorie cycling and caller good. :)

    Yep, some up, some down, it will all average out. Although there is nothing magical about weekly either other than the fact most people weigh in once a week. Stay the course, you're doing fine.

    I just read a research study on how fasting and then overeating the next day is an excellent way to cure disease and lose weight (yes CURE disease!)

    Basically one day u eat 20-50% of your daily calories, then the next you eat whatever you want (within reason of course). One day you will have about 700 calories, the next 2500 or so. It all evens out and apparently you should lose some weight doing this as well as become healthier. The study had shown that mice fed this way did much better mentally nad healthwise then mice fed typical diets to what we humans eat (a set amount of calories each day). Fasting is said to be very important for the body and looking back at our ancestors you can see how fasting would have been part of life.

    I may try this way of eating soon. I already kind of am as I am having trouble keeping my calories up on this diet. I try to get one or two days a week where I eat what I want (all u can eat sushi! hehe) and aim to go OVER my alotted calories. Hard when my diet is so strict though.

    I think i ran across that same article or at least one similar to it. It had to do with fasting anyway. Interesting read.
