Lactose Free protein supplement?

Over the last few months, I have taken dairy out of my diet due to a severe lactose intolerance. Yogourt, cheese and milk are the worst culprits even with any form of lactase enzyme. I decided to cut lactose out completely to try to see if I noticed a change, and within a week I lost the bloated feeling in my belly that I had grown accustomed to living with.

I would like to continue taking a protein supplement but now am not sure what kind is best. I have an organic hemp protein supplement but am wondering if there are any other options.

I gave up dairy too after having the same symptoms and yes, it feels great not to have to live with that uncomfortable bloated feeling... only wish I'd been smart enough to figure it out years ago! You might like http://biprousa.com/. You can still get the high quality milk based protein but without the lactose. I've also tried the organic hemp powder but found it too mealy. Pea protein is supposed to be really good and easily digestible also.

If you're still eating organic eggs, fish, meat you're probably able to get more than enough protein in your diet and don't need to buy into the expensive supplements/ marketing hype at all.

Good luck on reaching your goals!!

I'm a huge fan of Now Pea Protein powder. It's not organic (boo) but I love the taste! I add it to soups, hummus, etc. there's also lots of sprouted rice protein powders but I think they tastes too chalky.

Vega makes ones that are blends of hemp, rice and pea.

Thank yu very much. I too wish I had figured it out sooner! I do eat a fair bit of actual food proteins, but am horrible for breakfast so I tend to have a smoothie and like that boost of protein. The hemp changes every one. Mealy is a good word. I will look into the ones you both have suggested.
