About 3 weeks ago I hurt myself running, or I should say, after my run was over I had a nagging pain that hasn't gone away. I have tried everything to get back into running again. I have tried pushing through the pain, spoken with my pilates instructor for special stretches, walked lots to stretch out my muscles...and nothing, the pain in my leg has gotten worse and is now up in my hip!! So I didnt want to go see my regular doctor cause let's face it, he tells me my pains are growing pains..hahaha...so I was speaking with a fellow runner and she suggest a Sports Doctor....so I called and have an appointment on friday. Has anyone ever been to one? She said they deal with specifically sport related injuries...so..I am really hoping they help. It is sooo frustrating KNOWING my body can run and yet I cannot do it!!!!!!

I have, they are far better suited to treat sports injuries. I think you'll find it quite a lot better then a GP.0

I have been to a sport's medicine Dr... strangely enough it wasn't a sports related injury. I tweaked the muscles in my lower back doing nothing really but the Dr. was great... and the exercise/relaxation techniques they gave me did the trick!0

Have you thought about a chiropractor? I have been running alot this year and the only thing that has kept me injury free is my regular Chiropratic visits. If I am having any back, leg, knee, or muscle pain, he has been able to help me. He also would be able to tell me if it was something more serious that I need to see a sports dr for. Just a thought & good luck on your recovery.0

Hmmmm no I haven't...the really funny thing is..in my mind, I think of chiropractors as something bad! hahaha...isn't that weird??? I went to school with a girl who went and she warned me going once is like a drug and you have to go back every so often for adjustments and you become dependant on it......i dunno...so weird how we have these funny preconceived notions of things!hahahaha....Like i heard you shouldnt crack your knuckles cause it'll give you arthritis later in life and so I think cracking your back is going to do the same!hahaha...I should be open to it though!! I guess I'll see what this dr says...go from there!! Thanks for the suggestion though!0
