It's the average over the week that counts. Either eat a few calories fewer every week day so you have extra at the weekend, or use the weekend to chalk up some nice long exercise sessions and treat yourself with your exercise calories. A bit of planning helps too, try pre-logging your weekend meals and trying to stick to it. If you go over, don't deprive yourself on Monday or Tuesday, just go back to normal, it's much easier to stick to if it doesn't feel like a punishment!

Yes, that's perfectly OK, it's all about the big picture! If your weigh-in day is Wednesday, any extra weekend food won't reflect so you'll be able to see the overall trend.

I struggle over the weekends too, except I go way over the calories i had "banked up" during the week, it's quite depressing:(

i just replied on another post about this!

I am the same with bad weekends, what i have done is set my allowance slightly lower - i should be on 1900, so changed to 1800 so its ok for me to go over by 700 on a saturday. If i go over by more than this, i usually take the dogs for a long walk on sunday to 'earn' the extra cals.
this hasnt affected my loss in anyway, ive lost 36lbs since october and weigh in on a tuesday :-)

if you reduce cals during the week (without going below 1200 net), that will give you extra to play with over the weekend without going over your weekly goals.
