How to shrink denim? (levi shorts)

So it's great that i've lost weight (finally!) but all of my expensive vintage levi shorts are too baggy! :(
Does anyone know a way of shrinking denim? :(

    Take them to a tailor and have them taken in.

    No way to really "shrink" them permanently.
