Does Saw Palmetto help?

On a recent trip to my primary care physician I mentioned that my faucet still drips long after (15 minutes) going to the bathroom . He recommended that I take Saw Palmetto supplement for the problem. Until then I have an appointment soon for a prostate checkup. Does this problem come along with age? I’m only 45 years old! Will the Saw Palmetto help? Maybe there are some males here that have similar problems or husbands/boyfriends with the same problem. Thanks in advance for your input.
