Please help! I need advice on my calorie intake

I am new to this and have been on a 1200 calorie intake. I have started to exercise 3-4 times a week loosing between 400-600 calories each time I go exercise. I am also under my calorie intake. I have not weight myself since I started which has been a week but I have been reading about people eating more and losing weight? I am very confused. I am 5' and weigh 212 can someone tell me if I am eating the proper amount of
