Which is the best brand? I'm going to be getting contacts for the first time, and I'm not sure what brand to go with. I want regular and colored ones! Any advice/suggestions would be great!

I suggest asking your Dr for samples of different ones before you buy, everyone is different, some like thicker lenses some prefer flimsy lenses, etc......your Dr should let you "try on" several brands in office too.....

There is no "best" brand, you need the lenses that best suit your eyes, of the type that suits your lifestyle, in the price range you can afford and that is available in your prescription.

This is why it's illegal to buy them mail order, without first having them professionally fitted. Or at least it's illegal here, who knows where you are and what they do there! :bigsmile:

I was going to say the same. Ask to try a few brands before you decide which ones to buy. I have always worn acuvue, all other brands I have tried irritate my eyes.. but my brother hates acuvue.. so it's a matter of personal choice.

I've been wearing contacts for over 20 years. I Love Acuvue Oasis! Been wearing them for the last 5 years or so. They come in colored too. You wear them each for 2 weeks though, so colored ones of that type can get pretty pricey.

Your doctor will most likely suggest one based on your eyes. I'm not sure if you've had your initial appointment, but for mine, they told me what kind I would be getting, and then we practiced putting them in and getting them out. Because I have dry eye, I have Acuvue Oasys.

Contacts are the best choice I've ever made!

I have my appointment on Thursday, and I know I will be trying some on. But my doctor did say if I had any in mind, to let him know. So that's why I was wondering!

I like my Dalies. They are really thin and I can put in a new pair every day. No need to worry about cleaning solution and stuff. Easy.

the doctor should try a bunch on you to see what works best ! i have rigid lenses, which are horrible, i hope you dont have to have them !

I recently started wear Biofinity and have been happy, there's a rebate right now from Coopervision and another free trial, just do a search. Also I was able to match prices from discountcontactlenses.com, they are a lot cheaper and shipments arrive within about 2 days. My friend has ordered from them for years. I prefer Opt-free Replenish solution, I tried a few different solutions and it really cleans mine the best.
