Hi all! I am 24, and have been struggling with my weight since I gained 70 pounds during my pregnancy, 5 years ago. I lost around 20 pounds in the beginning (mostly just the weight of the baby and everything else), but I have been stuck around 175-185 ever since. I know I won't ever be able to get back to my prepregnancy weight (I've got those "baby having" hips now!), but I would like to lose 35 pounds. I am getting married next year on the Oregon coast (very small - just his parents and my parents, no reception - we are basically getting eloped, with four witnesses rather then just two) and I WILL wear a sleeveless sundress, and then a BIKINI for my honeymoon!
This is my first time getting motivated enough to actually start trying to lose weight. I am doing my best to eat whole foods and count calories, but I am at a slight disadvantage. My boyfriend is a long haul truck driver, and I live in the truck with him. While I have managed to figure out a way to store and cook healthy food in the truck, my exercise options are limited. I will be doing crunches on our bed, down the road in a moving truck, and walking laps around our truck and trailer. I am hoping a good diet and calorie counting will make up for my limited exercise.
I would LOVE to share support with others, and have someone to keep me motivated. This is only my first week, and I know there are going to be days where I am no longer motivated.

Hi Eryn, while your options are limited, you really should use every opportunity to stretch your body, legs, etc. Being in a same position and for a prolonged periods of time puts you and your bf at risk for developing blood clots too.
I wonder if you could do a short and quick routine at a stop that one of the Big Loser's trainers mentioned lst week. It's a set of 10 jumping jacks, 10 pushups and 10 situps, I believe. Repeat this set for a few times. could add a jump-rope. You need to get that circulation going...I am a little worried about you both.0 -
Thanks for the concern, Caloria. Luckily we drive a flatbed, not a box truck, so we get to chain, strap down, secure, and tarp loads a few times a week (which is a definite workout!). We also have a dog, so we stop several times a day for potty breaks to get out and stretch. I am trying to convince my boyfriend to walk with me at night (I read on an exercise site for truck drivers that walking around your truck and trailer 30 times is approximately a mile), but he has a ridiculous metabolism I'm super jealous of, can eat anything and never gain weight. So he isn't too interested, and it usually takes quite a bit of convincing to get him to join me. But by the time we stop at night, the truck stops are pretty full, so we usually end up parking at the back of the truck stop, and walking a ways to shower.
It's definitely not ideal, but I'm making the best I can with it, and hopefully I'll get him motivated to join me more often!0 -
