C25K question

I'm going to start the C25K program tonight, and I'm curious if it's effective for weight loss? I know it is a form of interval training with the walk/jog routine, but it seems like it encourages you to go pretty slowly during the jog times.

So, I'm just wondering what people's experiences have been with it as far as weight loss?
