Healthy japanese food?

So I'm planning on applying for a teaching job overseas and I've never really had any japanese food and I'm trying to get myself accustomed to the diet and I was wondering if there are any healthy foods I should try. I already like rice (unfortunately I feel like rice is kind of bland without any butter or anything else on it). Suggestions?

Japanese food (and Thai) are my biggest weaknesses! You are lucky because you will be getting it authentic. Japanese food in the USA is not like the real deal. It is very healthy, so I think you will do great.0
