Oh my goodness...this is why infomercials love me. I see something once and if you make it sound good enough, I want it and I stay wanting it until I have it!!! AAAARGH! Tell me I don't need to keep buying fitness stuff to get in shape!!! In the last two weeks since I've started, I've gotten so many things just because buying them helps me feel healthier already! *LOL*

But now I'm reading reviews on Wii Active and it's sounding better and better by the second! Who's got it??? How do you like it? Is it like Wii Fit in that it can record your weight and keep track of your progress, or is it more like just working out...?

I'm feeling my body already leaning towards my car keys and the door!

I want it too..... I have Wii fit and like it okay but Active looks great. My birthday is next week so I think I might ask hubby for it. He got me the Wii Fit for my birthday when it came out.

so what exactly is a Wii active, as opposed to a Wii fit? what sort of things do you do with it? I really want a Wii fit, and my b-day is coming up. Maybe you guys will sway me to choosing a Wii active instead

The wii fit is awesome. Its what jumpstarted my weightloss.
The Wii Active even has an additional pack you can buy and it has like a arm band and like a stretchy cord thingies to use with it. My hubby is buying it for me andim excited.

    I have ..
    Wii Fit
    My personal trainer
    Golds Gym cardio workout

and all the disc are amazing.
Can't wait to add to my collection!!

I bought it the day it came out, and totally love it. It is a lot better than Wii Fit (IMO), but if you already have Wii Fit, you can use the balance board to enhance some of the workouts. EA Active is great because there is less downtime between exercises, you can create your own workout routine from the exercises available (and unlike Wii Fit, all the exercises are available right away, you don't have to unlock them) or you can pick from the routines available (based on how long and how hard you want to workout)

There is also a 30 Day Challenge, that will lead you through different routines each day, uping the intensity as you go (there are 3 levels to choose from to start, low, medium, or high intensity)

I am seriously sweating during these routines so far. I actually want to workout because of this game!

Oh, and It also asks you to do a survey daily to enter things like how many glasses of water, how many hours of sleep, and how many servings of veggies you had the day before to track your progress.

    Totally recommend this game.

*LOL* I went out and bought it! Ain't no time like the present! Can't wait to get into it tomorrow...*happy dance* If only I can keep up this inspired motivation and momentum going!!!

Thanks for the reviews and opinions about this product! I'll definitely be sure to post about my thoughts on it after I get a chance to put myself through it's paces!

When my husband came home we wen't to Best Buy and I bought it. I can't wait to try it tomarrow either. Keep in touch and let me know how it goes for you. I am so excited it has such good reviews. I wanted it the day it came out , but Best Buy said they only got enough copies for the preorders, but they had it tonight.
I'm doing the HAPPY DANCE with the previous poster. w00tw00t!

I got it yesterday and tried it out right away. I LOVE IT. My legs hurt and I only did half of the workout, kind of to see how to do it. But it's so much fun, you just end up doing it like you mean it! LOL
I love the inline skating. My 9 year old almost had a heartattack watching me. He can't wait to try it. And I thought I will have something for ME!

One question for those who have it: I'm doing something wrong when I'm doing the punching targets. I can hit the blue, "across" targets, but the red, middle targets I can't ; my "arms" on the screen don't move. Any suggestion?

One of the things I love about this workout is the screen is interesting, when I'm running, I see something I'd see if I would be "out there". It makes time fly faster. I was afraid I will get bored looking at someone doing reps...

    ugh, Ugh, UGH!!!

I woke up nice and extra early, was all pumped and got dressed in my work out sweats and went over to put the disc in and it wouldn't LOAD. For crying out loud, I'm trying to get skinny here, EA!!! No matter how many times I tried to put it in, reset, blah blah blah, it wouldn't load. I tried loading some of my older games and they worked out fine, so I'm thinkin' it's the disc itself. Out of ALL the piles of EA Active boxes at Wal-Mart, I picked the one that DOESN'T WORK!

*pouts* I really wanted to play today!

Hopefully I'll be able to return it at a closer Wal-Mart here in town since I got this one somewhere else.

The worst part is, when it wouldn't work, instead of getting up and putting on a workout DVD or something, I came on here and pouted instead. UGH!

(Yes, I know I'm being a whiny brat...*stamps foot* HAHAHAHA...)

We have Wii Fit, My Fitness Coach and Wii Active. The best by far is the Wii Active. You can make your own workouts or use their preprogrammed ones. I have done both. The only problem I have found is that if it does not sense your movement, you are stuck in the middle of an exercise and you cannot get past it.

    I love it though

When we put in our disc, it needed to do an update on the Wii. Look at the menu and see if it is asking to do that

When I put the disc in, it doesn't ask anything from me. It won't even load the disc at all! I think normally when we have to do an update, the wii prompts the user to start the process right? It won't just sit there and do nothing? Plus at the same time, I loaded some games that we already owned and they seemed to work just fine. :( Thanks for the advice though, I'll go and have a look at the manual just in case I missed something. I'm always one to just jump into things without reading what I'm supposed to do first...*LOL*

I had to call the 1-800 number once when my 3 year old took the remote while I was loading the disc and pushed all buttons the same time, about 1000 times per second.:noway: It got the WII jammed, but the "guy" walked me through it.
I worked out every day since I got it, and today I did an extra excersise. I was so happy to feel so strong after. And tired.
I think it's the best excersise I can imagine for myself to stick with!!

ok now I'm sold hahaha... so do you need the balance board from the wii fit to do the active or is it just optional?

The balance board is not needed, but if you already have it, it can be incorporated into the workouts.
