I want nice arms

Options
I see women (many of them here on MFP) with lovely , well defined arms and that is my goal. So I am reducing my calories for an over all fat loss.

But, I need some exercises. Part of my problem is that I have degernerative disks in my neck and I can have trouble with weights.

Please help!

If you want nice, defined arms, it sounds like maybe you want to build some muscle while losing any fat that might be on your arms? If so, reducing your calories might not be a good idea. Does the disk problem prevent you from using any hand-weights at all? Can you do body weight moves like pushups, tricep dips and things like that?

If you want to get those nicely defined arms, building some lean muscle while you lose that fat is key, and to build the muscle you have to feed your body. Check out this thread about having major success with higher calories - lots of good info in there! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/518533-major-sucess-with-higher-calories

Thank you for the response. I can use hand weights Pushupand dips can really hurt. I can plank as long as I am thoughtful. I can do most things as long as my neck is supported.

I always eat my exercise calories back.

I'm going to read the thread.

Again thank you for your response.

What about resistance bands? Would that hurt too? There are tons of toning exercises with bands http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGT833ogMTw

Triceps are the biggest muscles in the arms, unlike the biceps (which most people believe). You have to lift weights to have nice arms, and also lower your body fat percentage.

If you can, deadlifts, pull ups, and over head press. And squats... Why have awesome arms without the *kitten* to match?

Good answer! I'll do just that.
