Last night i went to walmart and bought a Gold Gym Resistance tube. and when i opened the pasckage it said that it contained a chemical that in the state of california was known to cause birth defects and reproduction problems. so i dont know if i should take it back or if it would be safe to use. any thoughts on the matter. i tried it last night and really enjoyed using it until i found out that i could cause birth defects and stuff like that. PLEASE HELP p.s. i tried to look it up today and couldnt find out how it was that this could happen i mean it isnt like im going to be putting it in my mouth or anything like that. anyones input would be great.

i dont know but as i was looking through the box i found a customer service number and called it the lady said that they have to put it in with every stamina product that they make so i guess i am safe she told me that it was 100% safe and stuff so i kinda feel a little less worried about it now.0

I see it on a lot of things... Cali has more restrictions about labeling and standard levels of some things than a lot of states... mostly lead that I know of. I think you should be safe, just don't go chewing on it, or letting anyone else either.0

California just has more strict regulations on public awareness for chemicals. They had to put up signs saying that the oil used to fry french fries can cause cancer, because the heat changes the chemical composition to something that has been associated with (even in small percentages), with cancer. Which is the same oil that many people use at home to fry their food in, so it's not that big of a deal.
There have been studies that have linked milk to causing cancer, too, but those studies also use gallons and gallons a day, which is not feasible for normal people. The study linking the chemical in those bands could have shown a correlation, but it's probably not in the percentages that they actually contain, so I wouldn't worry about it at all, honestly.0
