    Hey TIA,

You could try youtube but be careful. There are a lot of people posting videos showing the WRONG technique. Here's one by Steve Cotter showing how to, (properly), perform the kettlebell clean.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7rib_DhL2s

It's from his Encyclopedia of Kettlebell Lifting, (vol 1). If you can afford it I'd recommend buying it. The next best thing to being trained in person by an RKC, (Russian Kettlebell Certified), instructor which you should do if you get the chance. If you're interested in that message me and I'll steer you in the right direction.

Also try Lauren Brooks. She has some stuff on youtube. If you like her style her website is www.ontheedgefitness.com. She sells DVDs and I'm sure you could find something there to keep you busy.

    Good luck!
  • LOL - TIA means Thanks In Advance!!! Its not my name! LOL

    Cool learned a new acronym...!

I would just talk to people at the gym who are actually using the kettlebell on a daily basis...

    Bump!
  • I went to that guys youtube site. He seems to know what hes doing, but OMG hes so slow, and just talks to much! I just don't have the patience to sit here for 10 minutes to learn about one move. I should really look into a "studio" around here who teaches it, because like you said, I don't want to do a move incorrectly, and really hurt myself.

Steve Cotter is slow! Lol! But I like his workouts when he gets into them- I use a circuit video he did that has about 3-4 20 minute workouts.

The Russian is insane too. (Pavel?) Google Kettlebell Goddess.

I have had really good success with KettleWorx.

I've been through the program three times - started out on 5 lb., moved up to 7, then finally 10.

I'm starting over again w/ 7 because I took time out to complete 12 weeks of TurboFire. Now that I'm back into it, I realize just how good it has been for me. It's quick, fun, and so far very effective.

Hope you find what you are looking for, good luck!

I would... I never saw anyone doing before when I saw a guy using it, he showed me some exercises... you can do the same kind of exercise with a dumbell, "pick up the box, put it on the shelf" clean and jerk with a barbel. Those will wear you out...Do you go to a gym?
  • I belong to a gym, and they have a lot of classes, but no Kettlebell classes. Maybe I take a ride out to Target tomorrow and look for a dvd... But those Kettlebells are expencive to buy! I like using the ones they have in my gym. To bad they are to heavy for me to sneak out!!! lol JOKE

well anyway they are just a 'core' kind of exercise....I would ask the staff there about them. some gyms even have a trainer on staff who can give you advice... We have a huge tire at the prison and some people flip it, it is kind of like kettlebel. Another idea is to watch women's crossfit competitions, they use kettlebels too. My gym is pretty cheap less than 10 per month, but the owner will alays give you advice. Want me to ask him for you? he might have some youtube suggestions...
  • That would be great, thanks! I would ask the trainers walking around my gym, but if I do, they will bust my balls to buy their training packages (at $109 a session). Not happening! I'm supposed to get 2 free sessions per month with my membership, but I gave up on them because on the 2nd session, they turn into pressure salesmen to get you to buy packages. They are already getting my $30 per month membership fee - Give me a break already!!! :explode:
