I'm trying to increase my carbs which will then hopefully increase my energy levels. I always seem to be way under on my carb intake, consuming less than half of what I should a day, but am always over on my sugars. I eat fruits, yogurt and sweet potatoes which seems to put me over on the sugar. I can't find a way to cut down on the sugar and increase my carbs. Should I really be that concerned?

MFP's sugar allowance is low. You can customize you daily goals to make your sugar allowance higher, you can ignore the red number in the sugar category, or you can delete the sugar category altogether from your diary and just ot track sugar. If the majority of the sugars you are taking in are from natural sources, you're doing great and will continue to do so.0
