Spanx & similar...

Guys,

I'm after some advice, getting down into dresses sizes that I feel more comfortable actually wearing dresses but was contemplating something along the lines of Spanx to smooth the last few bumps out a bit.

Spanx seem to be quite dear and both those and the cheaper alternatives seem to have really negative reviews on their comfort and worth (as in even looking any better!)

Any opinions?

I'm getting the impression I might be better off without?

Spanx are the most amazing things in the world! I can always tell a difference. Even though they are more expensive than other stuff like that, it's totally worth it. They are pretty comfortable compared to everything else. The only time they aren't to comfortable is when its hot out and you start sweating some. But what do you expect when you're layering up lke that.

Another vote for spanx. I bought a pair to wear when I was a bridesmaid in a wedding...and now I wear them fairly regularly. I think they're comfortable. I have the strapless body one. It really smoothes everything out allowing me to look good and feel good in so many more outfits than before.
