Cheat Day

I have always been told when you diet you need a cheat day, by that I mean just a meal. I do not workout on Saturdays so I decided Chinese food was a great idea for my cheat meal. I was full pretty quickly but was determined to eat it all because I was not going to miss out on eating crappy. It tasted so good and I was with friends, which made it better. Then we were all done eating and heading back to the cars and I swear my stomach cramped up on me. I was so upset at that point because I knew my body was not used to eating so poorly and my stomach let me know the mistake I made. Needless to say that I will not be doing this again and on my cheat days I am only going to have a bad choice in snack, if I am in the mood for it.

I "cheat" every now and then. Taco bell, wendy's, BK... I will crave those things forever. That's just me. I've noticed I can't eat as much as I used to. I used to pack it in. Large Whopper Value Meal and I'd the whole thing and all the fries and sometimes even a chocolate pie. Now I'll get a whopper Jr, no mayo, (not the same without cheese, so I give up the mayo), and the value fries. It fills my craving without making me ill.

And to be honest I crave Wendy's salads more than I do the burgers. My fav is the one with cranberries and bleu cheese and Chicken. Culver's has one too that is delish!

My worst craving is for chips, my favorite is Cheetos, so the last time I ate cheetos I had one of those tiny bags of them and that satisfied my cravings. I am grateful that I am not that into fast food and I don't eat salad dressing at all so that helps me keep my calorie and fat intake down.

I made the same mistake as you before... I thought since this was the one cheat I had, I had to go all out. I paid for it! Now, I don't make a specific cheat day. If I reach another goal and decide I'm in the mood for some ice cream, I'll go ahead and treat myself to a small portion because I earned it.

I've been a fast food junkie from elementary school. My senior year of high school, I met my BF (now my hubby) everyday at McDonald's for lunch. EVERY MotherLovin DAY! No wonder I gained weight senior year LOL. I just accept that I don't forsee being able to give that up completely. I would be discouraged and quit if I tried to. So, I build it in. I know that Mom and I will most likely eat out on Saturday when we shop. We most always do. So I try to keep within my calories those days as best I can. If I don't, oh well, back on the wagon for Sunday.

I've never been into chips or sweets. I ate some popcorn last night, but that's the extent of my snacky type cravings. Each has her deathly weakness. LOL

I get my chocolate craving taken care of daily because I have the triflex (glucosamine) chews which taste like tootsie rolls and then my calcuim chews are dulce de leche and real good tasting also. My fast food thing is breakfast food which I fight stopping at every time I drive home since I have to pass a BK. LOL Oh the vices that make us dislike our waist line. LOL
