1 lb weight gain

So, in my first week I lost 4.5 lbs, with took me down to 180.5 lbs. We went on a mini vacation over the weekend, and I did manage to stay under calorie goals. I am a teacher and on Spring Break this week, so yesterday I lowered my intake for just this week.
Yesterday I did cardio (alternated brisk treadmill walking with elliptical trainer).
Out of curiosity, I weighted myself all day yesterday. Yesterday morning I was at 181.1 .... 1/2 lb, no big deal. Well, throughout the my weight fluctuated up and down all day ... to be expected. I weighed right before bed. 181.4.
Weighed this morning 181.5.
I thought I would weigh less in the morning.
I AM super sore from ramping up the elliptical and doing some yoga (which I haven't done in over a year)....
Could this be a factor? I am not totally freaked out, but if I 'gain' today, I will be an unhappy camper.

You need to stop stressing - you will definitely be part of the problem.
Any time you work out, you will retain some water from the stress you put the muscles through on workouts... it is always a given.0 -

^ This. You lost a lot of weight in one week, probably 2 weeks worth of weight so this is also a probable cause. Keep focussed and remember that there will be good weeks and bad weeks, focus on the good and when you reach your goal you can laugh at the bad!0 -
You are much braver than I! Lol. I'm a daily morning scale junkie. Once I weighed myself in the morning then again right before bed....I had gained 4 pounds that day haha. By the next morning it was gone, but I've never weighed right before bed ever again lol.
Your body will retain water after a workout to repair muscles and a million other reasons lol. Not sure how you managed to gain a bit after weighing right before bed (assuming you didn't even have a sip of water after you weighed then nothing before you weighed in the morning). Must be a small glitch with your scale?
Anyway! I wouldn't worry too much about it (I know, easier said than done ) as long as the trend for the next few weeks is a loss then you'll be fine .0 -

Its not just that though.. to think you gain weight so fast and automatically assume its weight is just crazy thinking. If you rely on the scale all the time, every day, you might as well give up because of the self-inflicted mental torture you willingly put yourself through.. Honestly - toss the scale, dont even use it. Weight changes every day. Measuring tape is the best method of weight loss measurement...0 -

thanks! needed to here that as i am in the same boat. How long does it take to lose the fluid?0 -
It will go away, thats part of the risk of weighing everyday. I weigh everyday and some days Im up 2 lbs then I go down 4lbs. As long as I am down overall for the week I am happy, keep it up and you will see a change in the scale within a couple days. Also drink lots and lots of water because you are exercising you need even more than usual.0

with adequate water intake, proper stretching for warm up and cool down and being good about what you choose to eat, it can come down. But this happens all the time when people exercise so you just have to come to the realization that the scale is not suppose to be used every day. Honestly - you are only making your minds worse when you do that.
Measuring Tape.... ditch the scale0 -
It went away. Down another .5.
I think it was from working out... over the past few days I've noticed when I'm sore I weigh more.
I don't intend to weigh every day after this week. I am a teacher on Spring Break, so I am exercising more than usual, and just wanted to see the daily fluctuation from morning, afternoon and evening.0 -

If you are going to weigh daily - dont dont dont dont.... rely on the scale for an affirmative result0
