I did my first 10K on Saturday and felt really great afterwards. However, Sunday evening my right ankle began to hurt and is now painful to even walk on. I usually walk 2-3 miles at lunchtime during the week for the burn and extra calories but with my ankle not even taking a walk to the coffee pot I have been staying off it as much as possible.

Any ideas for a replacement exercise I can do at my desk at lunchtime? I know I can do stretches but I want the calorie burn since I plan to have a few glasses of wine tonight.

Also, I need some ideas for what I can do at home since anything involving my ankle is out and I usually walk or play tennis in the evenings.

What I did when my knee was out of commission:

Seated workouts including seated punches, aerobics (I think you can search seated aerobics on youtube), and such. Just take anything you would do standing and do it in your chair.

On the floor: ab work. I would do an entire 20 minute workout on just abs, going from one set of exercises to another. Then leg lifts, side leg lifts, and yoga.
