  • I stock up on all of my lean meats while it is on sale. I picked up skinless boneless chicken breasts yesterday for 1.49 a pound:noway: ...:).....I also picked up some ground turkey the other night while it was on sale.

Eat fruits and veggies that are in season.:):):):).....Sometimes they mark down the prices on some fruits and veggies, if you plan on eating them in the next day or two- pick them up!!!

I heard eating beans, rather than meat, twice a week can be beneficial to your pocket also. I have never tried it though. I have no idea how to cook beans:huh:

Dried beans are great. I cook mine either in my pressure cooker or on the stove. Make a big pot of soup, beans and rice, beans with grilled meat and some seasonal veggies. Lots of ways to use them and I can get a pound bag of dried beans for under a buck, which makes a lot of beans!

Fruits and vegetables at Farmer's Markets if you have any around town.

If you get there near the end of the day. Its slimmer pickings, but they usually are more apt to hook you up with a good deal. They wanna sell their stock before the weekend is up.

Also, if you can muster up a good rapport with the vendors they'll be more inclined to give you a discount if your a repeat customer.

We have a large asian and pacific islander community in KC. Great way to hook up on spices and good recipes for stuff.

Plus its a great day to enjoy your saturday or sunday. Meet new people.
