leg cramp while walking

Yesterday I went out for what I wanted to be another mile. Got two laps in but on the 3rd one I got an awful leg cramp lower leg. It's still hurting today when I tried to go for my mile for today.( I do a mile every day) I can't seem to shake this cramp off. Any ideas as to what to do?

    Generally a calf cramp can be relieved by stretching, rest and ice if the discomfort persists.

    Cramps are usually a sign of either dehydration or potassium deficiency (eat bananas, cantaloupe etc).

    Thanks I'm going to relax today. And pray that it helps. Trying powerade to see if that helps I didn't drink hardly enough yesterday.

    Personally I avoid sports drinks unless I'm on a very long run (1.5 hours or longer) most of them contain more sodium and carbs than you need for a short duration exercise, water is a better alternative.
