looking for an accurate caliper

hello, I have been using the gym's hand held BF mechanism, and don't know how much I should trust it for accuracy. I was wondering A) if anyone uses calipers at home, B) if they know whether they are indeed proven more accurate and reliable and C) what, if any, I should look into getting for a budget?
