I was reading a subject in Success Stories today about losing weight and still feeling the same mentally, The more I read it, it seems to be REALLY common. And it also seems REALLY hard on people. My cousin has lost an insane amount of weight and you can occasionally tell he doesn't really "feel" it yet. When I lost my weight when I was 21, I hated myself and just killed my weight because I wasn't happy and used it to fuel me. I dropped like 45 pounds and I never really thought about seeing it but I felt amazing. Now I am starting out from 258 lbs(I was 225 at 21 down to 175-180) and am down 17 lbs. This time motivation is harder, but something that I feel has made it easier for me is that I don't "feel fat" at all. While I cannot perform like I did when I was 21 and healthy, I still seem to do more than what my weight/health would dictate. When I see myself, I don't see myself as fat. I see myself as overweight and I know I need to improve my health, but I FEEL healthier than I am perceived.

I guess what I was wondering is if anyone else has had this kind of feeling and does it seem to make it easier to motivate yourself? I have always been athletic, so I wonder if that helps me a lot as well with my self image.
