Hi!
I am new to the site and I was wondering why there is such a limit on Protein. Isn't protein good? I seem to go over by 20 or so...I am not eating that much. It doesn't seem like it anyway.
Any thoughts?

MFP sets it to the standards recommended by what ever regulatory agency sets those things says. For the average person, 20-25% of your diet in protein is all you need. For people trying to gain muscle, a lot more is needed! Nothing is wrong with extra protein, as long as you don't have any medical conditions that can hurt!0

I typically consume close to double the protein recommended for me. I'm trying to minimize muscle loss as I lose weight.0

For some reason, MFP sets protein pretty low. If you're going to go over your recommended intake anywhere, protein is the place to do it. You can also manually adjust the settings, I have mine set at 40/30/30 carbs/protein/fat.0
