im so effed off

Hi,
I started eating healthy and went for 4 25 minute jogs last week.
my ankle started hurting and i figured it was the shoes, so today i went and got good running shoes so i could continue my fitness.
WELL
my ankle is hurting like crazy! i cant jog to save my life on it!
AND i have lost no weight since last monday.

Losing weight sucks, i feel like somebody up there is testing my patience, and I'm so angry!!
sorry i needed to rant!!

has this happened to anyone?

Had the same trouble with my knees when I used to run. I have switched to the elliptical type machines (low impact) and the pain is gone. You may want to start with interval running/jogging until your body gets used to it. Good Luck!

Did you buy the new shoes by going to a running store? It sounds like you have a pronation problem. You need to have your gait evaluated by a running shoe store. You might save yourself a serious injury.

Try a different exercise! Jogging isn't the only way to lose weight!

I know weight loss is hard. If it were easy, everyone would be skinny! The key is to stick with it for the long haul. Congrats to you for doing the jogging! That's awesome. But when you're in pain you need to rest. Restrict your eating a little until you can get back out there and jog again. In the mean time, strengthen your upper body!

A stall, when in pain, is to be expected. You're just not yourself. Take some pain killer and relax! The weight loss will continue when you can be more active again.

I hurt myself running, so i switched to swimming, hurt myself swimming, switched back to running.
trick is..keep at it! (not on an injury, but in general)

It would not be a bad idea to go see your doctor. Maybe have an X-ray done just to be sure. Try water aerobics, it's great exercise and low impact on your joints!

    thanks!
in a mood like this i would just give up and go buy some chocolate from the local shop (then feel dreadful about it) but I'm sticking it out!

Ill take up the idea of upper body strengthening, thats a great tip!
