Gluten intolerance

Hey everyone, I am trying to eliminate wheat from my diet to see if I have an intolerance because I have very bad bloating problems. Has anyone gone through a gluten free diet before? any advice?

It's possible, It can be expensive if you like your bread and pasta cuz the gluten free stuff is like 5x the price. If you have problems with bloating and gas, not sure how much it will help. I heard somewhere that meats actually give more gas during digestion, not sure how true that is. Good luck sorry I'm not much help on that front.

My son had a very rare food protien allergy, worse but simialar to celiac where he could not eat certain protiens or foods including rice, soy, green beans, peas, some meats, wheat, milk, and a bunch of other stuff. Gluten free is possible and much more avaible then it used to be.

Good luck with your new diet.

Of course there are a ton of gluten replacers, and I do eat them, but I try to stick with just eating more whole foods (fruits, vegetables, meat. . .things that are naturally gf).

There is a gluten free group here as well (or maybe it's a celiac group. Either way).

You could try eating a gluten free diet for 2 weeks and see if you feel better... If you have a problem with gluten, it probably won't take long to feel better.

I would recommend during your test period, to leave out all those processed gluten free foods. There can be other things in these foods that are a trigger for you. I learned that buckwheat is in a lot of gluten free foods and I am terribly allergic to it, so had to be very careful and read every label.

After a couple of weeks, if you are feeling better and want to try to follow a gluten free diet, add those processed, gluten free foods in slowly.

I find the processed foods slow down my weight loss. They tend to be high in calories... Now I just avoid them all together!

You can send a friend request if you would like some GF friends!
