Bridal Shower....Desperately needing help!

Hi everyone,
I'm the maid of honour in my best friend's wedding. The shower is planned for May 5th.
Confession....I hate bridal showers. I have yet to be at one that was enjoyable. Once I went to a shower where I found out myself and one other girl were not invited the wedding (but we were still allowed to buy gifts!).
Anyway, I really want to make this a special fun event for my friend! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Since this isn't the bachelorette party, I say do something classy. I honestly think you don't have to have an event that is super wild or funny, but one that is touching and memorable. How about a brunch at a restaurant, a formal tea, or dinner at a really nice sit down restaurant? Everybody could dress up in dresses and you could go out to eat and take photos somewhere cool...since it is May, I think it should be beautiful outside! If you did the dinner thing, you could go back to someone's house and have dessert and open presents. I don't necessarily think there has to be games or anything. I say go classy! I'm picturing everyone in spring/summer dresses and having fun!0
