Need some advice on calorie intake

About a week ago I hit 17 pounds lost, and MFP asked me if I wanted to adjust my calories down about 60 per day, and since I did that I have been hungry a lot more. I don't know why that would make such a difference, but I'm just wondering if maybe my metabolism needs more than that now.
I keep my foods high in protein, and up until now I'd had no problem being full all day on 1300-1400 calories. So should I stick it out for a while and see what happens, or up my calories back to where they were and hope I keep losing?
All opinions welcome, thanks! And my diary is open if anyone wants to look.
