Is P90X for me???

Hello everyone, Im a stay at home mom, to 3!
I tend to think my excersie level is pretty good. I work out 4 days a week, that includes running at least 2 miles a day, 5 mile on the bike and light strength training mostly for my abs, I also do lunges and push-ups to tone.

Anyway, we have had P90X for a while now and I have not started it yet, or really considered it (more of my hubbys idea)

I REALLY would like to see a drop in weight, but also tone up my legs, arms and abs, since having 3 babies I was granted w/ some jiggly extra skin...:grumble: and my "love handles" really need a good workout!

So does this sound like something that would be good for me?
ANY tips would be great! Thanks!

You're definitely in better shape than I was when I started. It's more of a fat dropper than a pounds dropper so keep that in mind when you're setting goals under this program.

Absolutely! I've been doing P90X for a little over a year (I'm in the middle of my 4th round), and am in better shape now at 37 than when I was in my 20's.

In the P90X Fitness Guide, there is a Fit Test. Take the test, and if you pass (don't worry if you can't do a pull-up), then you'll be fine. Make sure you read the Fitness Guide & Nutrition Plan thoroughly. Nutrition is 60-70% of your results, and if you don't get your nutrition in order, you won't see the results you desire.

    Good luck!

I liked P90x it'll definately get you into shape if you stick with it and follow the nutrition guide. I'm a mother of 6 and the time was a factor for me, so I'm doing Chalene Extreme right now, also a beachbody product.

I like it because it works you hard and the workouts are about 40 min long instead of over an hour.

Question for anyone that has done P90x successfully... the calorie intake they list is higher than what I eat now (according to what MFP has set for me which is 1200). Say p90x says I should eat 1800, is that really my 1200 from MFP + the calories burned from doing P90x (so it's the same thing)? I guess my question is whose calories should I go for- MFP's 1200 or P90X's 1800?

I did 1800 even though my calorie burn was lower than 600. It has worked really great so far. My photos show what happened by the end of Phase 1 :flowerforyou:. Week 7 starts tomorrow.

You definitely don't want to go below 1600-1800 calories while doing P90X. These workouts are tough, and your body needs the fuel.
  • I absolutely love p90x!! Tony Horton makes working out fun...and you will see results! :) Ab ripperX and I have a love/hate relationship! I have a beachbody coach on my facebook and she said p90x is coming out with a new set of dvds.. :)
