too few calories... too many hours!

I think I figured out why I'm having difficulty these days. Too few calories (1430) to spread out over my 18 hour days! Well, not too few, I know that's what I need to eat to lose weight... but I'm so busy with work and kids and such that I'm up at 0530 and in bed at 2300 most nights...
I need to find some foods that will help me stay fuller, longer... any tips?
Also, I know I need to up my workouts... I've been so busy and have skipped the gym more than I should. Something that I haven't done in more than a year... I'm considering getting something like the fitbit... but have also considered the bodybugg... any feedback? I want something that will sync with my iPhone (or MFP) and calculate calories burned... or even better, if it could tell me the calories I burn during my bootcamp workouts, I'm always confused about that...

If you have 18 hour days, with kids, you need to eat way more than 1450 calories!!!!!
Sleep is one of the best weight loss aids out there. Maybe you could get some help?0 -
well that's what MFP told me lol... I do sit a lot when I work at one job, but another is more active, so I set my self as moderate...0

you're not alone with the L O N G days...ugh! :ohwell:
I find if I eat more fiber and fill up on water, I'm fuller longer.
Also, some protein, pb/apple slices, turkey w/ string cheese, etc.
for that late afternoon sluggish time.
Exercise...are there stairs at work? I do the loop....up at one end and
down at the other end of the bldg. Leg lifts while at ur desk (assuming
you have one)
Best of luck to you...and hope you can make some 'me' time!:flowerforyou:

I'm with you..........I'm up at about 6, in bed around 11.
One thing that's helped me is just holding off on eating breakfast till later in the morning. I have coffee or tea first thing and try to nurse that for a few hours, and I try not to eat breakfast before 8am, because the earlier I eat breakfast, the earlier I need lunch, etc etc.
I also try to plan my meals so I have snacks built in to my day.
Last, I just don't really eat past 7pm.

Thanks all
I do try to make some "me" time... usually it's the gym! Also, I'm looking at cutting back on some work shifts, I love my work (I'm an EMT and I also dispatch an emergency helicopter) and it's super rewarding... but so is taking care of myself.
I can't seem to master that eating thing after 7pm. Totally my nemisis. I just get snacky. I'm trying to drink tea to tide me over, and have developed an addiction to DAVIDsTEA .... yummmm.
I'll try get more fibre and water. Those might help!
