idk if you consider pennywise 'real' punk or not, but full circle and straight ahead get me going (especially 'alien')
strike anywhere gets me going, rise against (the unraveling album)
and the aforementioned RATM, virtually any song0 -
I always get pumped up when Dead Kennedy's Holiday in Cambodia pops up on my playlist when I'm at the gym. The rampaging guitar march always gets me going. Might be an acquired taste though... some people really don't like his voice!
My suggestions:
Buzzcocks (!!!)
Ramones
TSOL
The Vandals
The Germs
Richard Hell
Wasted Youth
Black Flag
Exploited
DI
Decendants0 -
I'm listening to Distillers as we speak. They're on my running playlist.
I've also got some Ministry and Front 242 and some other industrial stuff from my early 90s club days.0 -

I'm not too keen on the late 70s punk as workout music. Maybe The Stooges, but bands like MC5 and New York Dolls just aren't motivating.0

only have art of drowning (best) and december underground (glitter wearing days, still love it--no fear)0 -
How could I forget the Circle Jerks? The Cramps! X!0

Early? They were around for so long where do you draw the line for early vs. late? 79 to 80 was early and 80 to 81 late?
I'm actually listening to Failures as I type.0 -
My favorite oddball group would be the Surf Punks
edit: Great cover of ballroom blitz0 -

Kind of sad no ones said:
7 Seconds
Subhumans
The Clash (I might have to try a workout to them)
The Damned
Bad Brains
Social D (old ****)
The Gun Club
Hell, not even the Sex Pistols (I'm not sure if this is a good or a bad thing...hehehe)
