5K - New Personal Best!

In March of 2011 I *ran* my first 5K. I came in around 45 mins finishing time. I did 4 more 5Ks, with the fastest time being around 43 mins (and the slowest time 48 mins...slacked on training!
Well, this past Sunday (3/25/12) I ran that same 5K from last year and came in at 42 mins! I had originally wanted to finish it in under 40 mins, but I gave it my best and am still happy that I at least beat my time from last year and have a new personal best time!
My first 10K is in two weeks. I simply want to finish it, even if I am DFL (Dead Effing Last). I shall post an update after that race!

WTG OP!!
I am going to try to line some 5ks up myself in the next few months. Need to go through my work roster and see which Saturdays I have off and get my *kitten* in gear lol0 -
Nice job! Congrats on your PR!0

Thanks everyone! I love doing the 5Ks, even though during them I want to die (haha). My fantasy is to one day be that girl with the perfect ponytail swoosh while she is running along the side of the road or on the treadmill next to you. I love the idea of running...I just need to convince my body that it will love it too, haha.
My recommendation to anyone considering their first 5K: Go for the one where EVERYONE receives a finisher's medal! Nothing feels more awesome than walking away from a race with that bling around your neck...whether you came in 1st place or 1063rd place! :bigsmile:0
