Going to my head?

So, I will just be very blunt with what I am about to say as to avoid me rambling. (I tend to do that WAY too much so just take what I am saying with a grain of salt, if you will. Don't be too quick to judge! ;] )
My boyfriend hurt his back trying to squat more weight than he is used to, and we both knew he was pushing himself too much before he did it. He hardly uses the machine and usually goes on 20+ lbs lighter. He said, "I just want to see if I can do it," and you could tell he knew it wasn't the best idea right there. I warned him to be careful and not hurt himself and whatnot, and off squatting he went. Turns out he pulled a muscle most likely, or hurt something in general because has been in some pain for a few days. Nothing too extreme, but a little more than sore.
Anyways, (see I told you about the rambling) last night he finally was feeling better about it after 3+ days. Still sore, but better. I warned him not to lift weights and maybe stick with cardio until it was no pain, or at least very little. I worry about him and know what it is like to push yourself too much when you want to continue your workouts.
And at the gym what did he do? 15 minutes elliptical and then some dumbells and the ab training room. And then he gets on the treadmill and a few minutes in his back is hurting pretty bad again. So, now to the point of my story-telling. After he told me this I did get upset. I told him that he is rushing it, that we both knew he shouldn't be lifting yet, etc etc. He agreed, but said that he thinks that just because I run/ lift weights and have lost weight in general I am all-knowing (He doesn't need to lose any weight but wants to gain muscle). Then I realized, maybe I am becoming a know-it-all?
So I am wondering...does anyone else LOVE learning about healthy nutrition and fitness so much that they end up, well, preaching? Do you do it too much? What is too much? And is it so bad that I just want everyone to feel/be as happy as am and be healthy or healthier at least? Maybe I am just hard to be around. I need some more fitness friends in my life so I can discuss these things with them instead of trying to push it on others that don't care as much I guess.

I do it. Most times I don't even know that I'm doing it. Point out correct form on a machine to someone that's off (Hey, I don't want to be the ONLY one getting a great lift!) Comment on those overpriced goopy "protein" bars that are pure sugar. Which activities should be done first. Etc. Etc. Etc. Most times my Husband is the one that gets it the. When it's him he just looks at me and says "Hush smarty". My little reminder that I am NOT a paid trainer or even employed at the gym. lol.
I think we just get SO excited by our progress and the things we've learned that we want EVERYONE to know how and what it is to feel this good.
(P.S. Maybe he's just grumpy cause you were right? Most guys I know prefer to be the ones that know "everything" )0 -

Ahh! I knew I was not the only one but what a relief to hear it from someone else. I love being right about fitness things, but I am not great at form with anything besides running. Lifting weights? Well, I know I do it. Not sure how "right" it is, though..haha. The protein bar one I am so guilty of too, but I don't care. I feel like SO many people fall for either that or the "diet" and "healthy" foods. I know I have! But once I got more educated and realized that those things were not helping it made my life and this journey much better. Well, here is to being know-it-alls I guess. But, we have the right idea at heart at least0 -
I am far from being perfect or fit or a know-it-all when it comes to fitness, but I read and read and read. Basically I love to read, so I know (or I think I know) all the theory behind fitness and diet LOL. So yes, I go about preaching it, where sometimes, it is not welcome. I need to tone it down.
I am that way, more so with health. I love reading health news, alternative therapies, etc. You ask me about cold/flu to thyroid to Parkinsons, I will have something I have to say about it LOL. I think I am very passionate about a few things and can't shut up. Although I need to learn to keep things to myself ;-)
Yes, so, you are not alone!!0
