MaryCMeadows - are you still on WW? I started the new plan, but I am really liking MFP.0

How long on MFP? 81 days
How many calories? 1610
Do I eat my exercize calories? most of them, yes!
And this is why this is working for me, and why it is something I'll be able to stick to for the long run. I am frequently astounded at how much I can eat and enjoy, guilt free, and still slowly lose weight. I'm not saying there won't be challenges, there will. But this is working, and I'm comfortable and happy with it!0 -

How long have you been on MFP? I think about 9 months.
How many calories a day do you eat without exercise calories? 1800
Do you eat your exercise calories? It depends....cardio calories = yes; weight-lifting calories = no
Weight lifting calories are probably THE MOST important ones to eat since your body burns more than a HRM would suggest as the muscles repair over many hours!!!!!0 -
How long have you been on MFP? A while...a couple years? Just now starting to have success
How many calories a day do you eat without exercise calories? 14-1500 ish
Do you eat your exercise calories? sometimes (I stagger my calories)0 -
11 months
im doing 1280 at the moment, but it was around 1900 for 7 months.
and of course i eat my exercise calories!!! yes yes yes.0 -
On MFP: since August 2010
Calories eaten per day: 1200-1500
Do I eat all my exercises calories: Not really, sometimes I eat half or it, sometimes more and sometimes less. I don't have a HRM so I count on MFP and the machines at the gym for calories burned by exercising. I do weight and measure all my food.
Goal reached on February 2011, and on maintenance for over one year.
Edited to add: weight:100 lbs; height: 5 feet (almost)0 -
On this site for about 75 days.
Have lost 9 pounds using this tool (40 total) I'm 5'3" and weigh in at 135.
I exercise to eat because I cannot get by on the 1200 calories that were recommended, so YES I eat my exercise calories. I always feel best when I don't eat them all.
I started MFP after stalling out after the first 30 pounds...the tracking is incredibly helpful. I do overestimate my calories and underestimate my exercise and that helps.0 -
On MFP: Since June 2011
Calories per day (not including exercise calories: 1800 (at maintenance)
Eat exercise calories back: yes
Have lost 17 pounds since starting MFP. I'm currently 5'7" and 125 lbs (didn't have much to lose).
My story about eating exercise calories -- in September 2011, my weight loss stalled. To lose my last few pounds, I wasn't eating my exercise calories and I kept chopping down my base calories. Even with this, no movement on the scale. Nada. So when Thanksgiving rolled around, I just gave up. I kept up my workouts, but I stopped counting calories and decided to eat and enjoy the holidays (and boy did I eat!) In January 2012, I decided to get back on the wagon and start counting calories again. I dreaded weighing in but to my amazement, I lost 4 lbs during my 6 weeks of indulging. Since then, I have kept up my higher calories, lost all of my remaining weight, and haven't looked back.0 -
I'm so glad I found this topic.
I joined MFP 2 months ago but I am really just starting it this week.
I aim for 1200 cals
I do eat my exercise cals.
In the last 3 months I was averaging 1200 cals a day working out 6 days a week burning an average of 300-400 cals per workout. I was not eating exercise cals - i really wasn't tracking calories but just eating clean. From Jan 1 til now I've lost 13 lbs. Ive really toned up but the pounds are dropping extremely slow. I'm really hoping that this works because I really want to reach my goal.
I'm not sure if my calorie goal is correct though. My BMR is around 1500. Does anyone know if that is the number of cals I should be aiming for? I wanted to lose 2 lbs a week.0 -

How long have you been on MFP? just under a year
How many calories a day do you eat without exercise calories? 1620 for 0.5lb a week loss
Do you eat your exercise calories? Yes and no, when I had it set for 1lb a week loss I absolutely did, now it's set at 0.5lb a week loss I aim for a 1lb a week loss net cals on exercise days, and a 0.5lb a week loss net cals on non-exercise days
Weight lost: 32lbs0 -
I have been consistently using MFP for about 4-5 months however I have used it off and on for probably about 9 months.
Since I started almost 4-5 months ago I have lost 18 lbs and am very close to my goal weight. Only 2.8 lbs to go!
For the most part I have aimed to eat 1200-1300 but there were many days where I allowed myself to eat 1400-1600 and usually once a week where I ate 2000 or even more! Opps. On those days I would definitely eat exercise calories but on the other days when I was really dieting I would try to avoid eating the calories I burned off working out.
I am currently toying with the idea of going on a bulk so I can tone muscles. Gaining weight after losing all this weight terrifies me so I might just start slowly and up my daily intake to 1600 and see if with added strength training if I see any results.

BMR is the amount of cals your body burns to just lie in bed and do nothing. So the minute you get up and go, you need more. You should at least eat about 200 cals more than your BMR. If you exercise, eat back some cals so that you eat a NET amount of at least your BMR.
Hope this helps!0 -
bump gonna read later I am new too.0
