Eating BMR actually causes me weight gain...

True. Everybody's body is different. My BMR is 1500 calories and that causes me to gain weight. Now, having said that it is an estimate. I have not done the experiment to eat 1500 perfect/healthy calories watching sugar/carbs/fat as well as whole foods and to the exact calculation of 1500 calories. I may find that if I did there might be some loss over 2+ week period. However, the expense and time it would take I am not in a position to try as of yet.
BUT, if this were true to my body you would think that reguardless of these specifics, if I ate at/near 1500 calories I would maintain or lose--not gain. So why then, do I see posts over and over for eating BMR?

    I suspect I would as well. You could get your BMR tested by a medical professional to see if your metabolism is slower than average. If it's not, then it must be underestimating your eating. Or another medical cause.
