I am a 23 yr old SAHM/W and love being home with my very crazy, very hyper 2 yr old, Danielle. I recently had an epiphany and decided I was finally ready to take care of myself, because without caring for myself, I may not be around long enough to care for my husband and daughter. I started counting calories and working out 4-5 days a week. Joined a gym, got a meal plan and workout plan made up for me by a friend who is a personal trainer. I have lost 3 lbs in 1.5 weeks and dont plan on stopping. I have about 80 lbs to lose to be down to my college weight. I just look at myself in the mirror and dont recognize the reflection. I question how I ever let this happen to myself, my body, my family. Any success stories or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on deciding to take care of yourself and the weight loss so far. I started out with 108 lbs to lose and I have lost 89 so far. It has taken me 15 months, so it has been slow but steady and I am much healthier now.

I know that you can do it too. We all have it in us if we really want to do it. Just take it one pound at a time. Each "single" pound lost is a great accomplishment.

Good for you! You are young, so doing this now will help you to avoid health conditions that are caused by overweight. And if you set limits on your own eating behavior, you will carry it over to set limits on your headstrong 2 year old. Win- win fir everyone. Two year olds are a challenge, because they are figuring out how they fit into the world, and they make a lot of mistakes! That is your job, to help her figure it out in the kindest, but firmest way possible. As you lose weight, you will have more energy to get up and remove her from dangerous situations, so losing weight will help you in being a great Mommy. Remember to be kind and gentle with yourself, too. You didn't gain the weight overnight, it crept up. So getting it off will be a long process, but a very worthwhile process. And in choosing better foods for you, you will be planning healthier meals for your family, believe me, getting junk food our of the house will help evryone avoid high blood pressure and diabetes. You will be grateful when you are much older! So, congratulations on starting a path to better health for you, and your little angel. :flowerforyou:
