Hi!!
Need some advice please!!
I've been tracking my calories, being very, VERY honest. Staying within my budget.
I've been getting major exercise. Lots of water! No late nite eating.
WHY WON'T THE SCALE BUDGE???
I'm getting super frustrated!!!
Any help would be really appreciated!!

If you have been doing this for a while, like at least a month, your body may be adapting to the reduced calories by becoming more "efficient" which means your metabolism is slowing and so weight loss grinds to a halt.
I know it sounds counter -intuitive to say you need to eat MORE in order to continue to lose,:noway: but based on my personal experience, as well as experience of others, and some sound science, it certainly seems to be true.
About 3 weeks into my campaign, the scale didn't budge for a week. I was in a situation due to a special occasion where I ate about 800 calories more than I had been consuming, a day or two later, I dropped 2 lbs. :drinker: and continued to lose that week- 3.5 lbs. total that week as I recall. :drinker: :drinker:
There is more to this than just eating more once in a while. You can google "zig zag calories" and learn more. My approach has been to to this once every 3.5 to 4 weeks. I lost 12 lbs. in 5 weeks. I may not make my first goal, (will find out tomorrow) but I will be close.
Don't give up the ship just because you seem to be stuck in the same port. Try a course correction and see if you can't end up pointed in the right direction. (Sorry, those nautical references tend to pop up in my writings, due to my having been a sailboater since I was about 14 years old.)
Good Luck,:flowersforyou: If I can do this, YOU can do this!!0 -
Hi!
I've tried mixing up my exercise.
For example:
Day 1: Run 5K
Day 2: Rollerblade (1 HR)
Day 3: Elliptical Machine & Weights (1.5 hours)
Day 4: Biking (40 mins)
Day 5: Run 5K
Day 6: Run 5K
Day 7: Rollerblade
I am trying to eat all my calories, even the exercise ones. When I did this last week, I actually GAINED!! UGH!!
I'm stubborn though, I'm gonna keep at it. At least my cardio-vascular system is in great shape!!
Thanks so much for the reply!! I'm going to google the zig-zag calories thing right now!!0 -
well you may not notice a drop in the scale..but maybe you are becoming more toned..what about lost inches around arms, thighs, waist ?0

I would get out the measuring tape. Keep at it and it will come off!0

I don't eat any of my exercise calories, for when i did i never lost any weight either, try eating maybe only half of them and see what happens, not everyone eats their exercise calories, everyone's body is different and do you have a HRM? how are you figuring out how manny calories you have burned? Also try taking your measurements ike others have suggested.0 -
Hi.
THanks for all the posts!!
I will try your suggestions.
My inches haven't budged from around my waist (That's my problem area), but my arms and legs seem to have shrunk a teeny tiny bit.
I don't have a HRM but I do consistently check it while working out. I"m usually always at my peak level for burning fat. Sometimes a bit more... :ohwell:
I will keep persisting and being stubborn!!
Thanks again all!!0
