Helpful cheap skate info you might not know...

I've seen a couple of topics on gym prices, etc on the forums and thought I'd throw out some info that I found out recently:
1. You might get a discount at certain gyms by virtue of your employer or your spouse's (or parent if you'r a kid). ASK both the gym you attend (or want to go to) and your employer. (If you're self-employed, sorry, not likely, but you never know. Maybe talk to a manager and see about getting a discount in exchange for some kind of advertising, if you can.)
2. Your health plan might offer discounts on gym membership, home fitness equipment, nutritionist appointments, personal trainers. all of those kind of things. ask... you're paying for it, use it.
2a. Paying on your own rather than through and employer? Tell them you're getting in shape. See if your premiums can be reduced.
3. already at a gym? Call and quit, I used to belong to 24Hour and then LA fitness when I lived in SoCal. Both times when we called to quit (because we were moving), they started dropping the price instantly and significantly. Too bad I hadn't done it before.
I hope that helps someone. I found all of this stuff out recently.
:-)
PS, bump it if you like it so it can help someone else :-)
