I read somewhere that you cant work out at night time and then work out the next morning, something about your muscles. Is that true?

What you may have heard probably pertains to weight training. You are advised to alternate a workout day with a rest day (from weights). However, with cardio you can workout multiple times per day.
The key, however, is NOT to overdo it. If you're a beginner, you probably need to look at 3-5 x per week with at least 2 rest days. I would not think a beginner would be working out multiple times per day, bc they just won't have the stamina.
As you get more and more fit, you will build endurance and stamina.
The ideal workout schedule would alternate cardio and weights and always have at least 1 full day per week off.
