Late Night Eating due to schedule

I am in the restaurant industry and usually get home a bit late for your normal dinner time. Is it really bad to eat right before bed as long as you stay within your alotted calories??

It's totally fine and it will not negatively effect your weight loss efforts.

I'm in the same position... I'm temporarily doing nights from says and my schedule is finding me very hungry from 8pm to 12am... I am not sure of this but I know that someone told me the rule of not eating after 6pm is actually no heavy foods 5 hours before you go to bed

No. Meal timing is irrelevant as long as you stay within you calorie goal. Your metabolism does not shut off at night, so eat when it is convenient. I eat most of my calories at night by choice. I guess I could eat them throughout the day, but I prefer eating them at night so I am not hungry when I go to bed.

Eat when you can, workout when you can.
Don't stress about it... eat your calorie goal daily whenever it is.... SOME people may have digestion troubles like reflux etc but that would affect some whether they ate right before bed or not...

Eat when you are hungry, just stay within your calories. I nearly always eat something right before bed, and I'm losing pretty steadily.

I do this as too and I am in the restaurant industry as well. I eat about 1/3 of my calories at about 1 am, and spread the rest out throughout the day. I'll sleep till late morning then have breakfast. workout comes between 1 and 2 pm followed by a shower and a weigh in! Then I relax untill my kids start coming home. I'll head to work about 5:30p. I like to have some colories to spare while i'm at work so i can eat a little bit there because it's almost unavoidable!

So far so good! I'm into week two of MFP and lost 3 pounds, right on track! Good luck and have fun!

^ What he said. I too am a night eater. Typically eating 1800 calories between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm then going to bed
