My Poor Butt!

Today I did 4 miles straight through for the first time...ever...yay!

However, after my shower I realized my backside was incredibly irritated.

I've had chub rub with my thighs for YEARS but this is the first time I've ever experienced butt chafing! :noway:

Anyone else plagued by this? I have a 10K coming up and I can only imagine how 6 miles is going to feel if 4 has me walking funny...

What works best for YOU when it comes to chafing?

  • i assume you were running? was the chafing due to your underwear rubbing?

I was walking at a fast pace with running thrown in here and there. No, the chafing is where the two cheeks meet (TMI?) I don't know if maybe sweat is the cause of the irritation? I normally do between 1-2 miles when I tackle the treadmill and occasionally will do 2-3 miles. I need to up the distance though, since I signed up for a 10K. I'm just curious if anyone else has experienced this kind of irritation before.

that's what I read too, and if that's the case, get some undies that are more spandex. it's hard to explain, but they aren't shiny and almost look like very-heavy tights - does that make sense? At any rate, they stay where you put them :)

I had this too.. I used monkey butt and when It got really intense I had to wear thong underwear cuz of the sweat:blushing: ..they were cotton O'malley ones from target..Love them
  • yea i have never had chafing in that area but i have used the butt paste for chafing around panty line area and it helps make the pain go away quickly. i have finally figured out to not wear underwear when bike riding. i guess a thong would work well too, but those panty lines will gitcha after about 20 miles!
