Minimalist/Barefoot Running Shoes
Hello everyone, I am writing this post because I need help and would appreciate any and all input you can provide. My boyfriend and I are doing p90x together and he is even interested in running with me now. He has recently expressed an interest in barefoot running shoes and with his birthday being less than a month away now, I thought this would be a nice surprise. Could you please tell me of any experience, personal preferences, deals, or positives and negatives you might have? Thank you very much!

I know you posted three weeks ago, but this is really the only forum so far about barefoot running. I'm a huge fan. Always got blisters from every pair of running sneakers. Ran barefoot a few times but always get tons of huge blisters on the bottoms of my feet. (WORST EVER). and just bought a pair of the Vibram FiveFingers shoes. i love them. You get a completely different workout from walking and running in them since you use muscles that the sneakers suppress. Definitely look into their website and give them a try. Hope that helps! : )0

I am a huge fan of my barefoot running shoes. I have the vibram/merrell barefoot running shoes which are not the five toed ones.
I was having huge problems with pain in my feet due to plantar fasciitis (swollen black and blue feet and ankles, numb feet and toes). I did all the physical therapy, orthodics and supportive corrective running shoes. Even after taking long breaks from running I would just need to head out once for a light jog and all the inflammation and pain would come back.
This time around after taking a healing break I tried the barefoot runner and the difference has been dramatic. No pain at all, no inflammation. I have been steadily increasing my distances and so far no problems. I am still not quite up to running the distance I used to run but I am getting closer.0 -
I love my Merrel Pace Runners. They're minimalist shoes with vibram bottoms. I also have the 5 fingers that I like for CrossFit but not running. Feeling the road under my feet (yes can feel rocks etc if their decent size) is great in my opinion. I take my shoes off as soon as I get home so I'm so much more comfortable wearing minimalist shoes. I didn't see a change in my running until I learned how to run in the POSE method. I was still heel striking with my merrel's and vibram 5's. So, form is still important as the shoes won't automatically make you change that necessarily.0
