Hi everyone

Not sure if anyone is open to talking about plastic surgery
Has anyone had a procedure they are willing to talk about...after you hit your goal weight..is it something you are thinking about

In HS I was thin...a size 6...but was always apple shaped (whole family is)
back then I had an awful time finding jeans that would fit my waist and legs etc...
I was so happy when the leggins crazy hit...LOL

Well, fast forward...I'm now 34yrs old with a almost 3 and 4 yr old (kiddies are 18mnths apart)
So, let's just say that made my apple shape 100% worse
I started here at 155 and am down to 145...hoping to hit 138...give or take
Problem is I am still way out of proportion and of course not loosing weight where I want to

Plastic surgery is something i never thought I would consider
BUT now I'm thinking about doing something, If i'm still not happy when I hit my ideal weight
My SIL and her mom and aunts went to someone close to me and have have multiple body procedures and have been very happy

I don't think there is anything wrong with plastic surgery after you hit your goal weight. Best of luck to you!

You have to do what makes you happy. Set your goals and go for it. My wife has set some goals herself. It's her decision either way. I support her 100%.

    Hi Kim,

I've been thinking of getting a few "things done".
I'm about 3 pounds away from my goal weight(125).... BUT... my 1st pregnancy did a number on my stomach. I have some loose skin on my belly and would love to get it "fixed". I went from 105 pounds to 176 pounds in a few months during my 1st pregnancy. My 2nd pregnancy wasn't nice on my boobs so that's something else I would like to get done. Anywho..... when you hit your goal weight, talk with your family members that has gotten the procedures done so you can know what you're getting into then have a meeting with the plastic surgeon. We're planning on having a third child within the next year or two so I have to wait so I'm looking forward to hearing about your outcome:happy:

  • There is nothing wrong with going under the knife, especially if you think it will motivate you and help with your self esteem. Just remember if they suck that fat out... that doesn't mean you get to slack off on your health and fitness routine -- because that fat will spring out somewhere else... :noway: YIKES

I wanted boobies :blushing: for a long time, but now that I am running more and commited to fitness, I think I will save my money for a laser face lift and maybe a little botox along the way....
  • If you are REALLY determined and money is NOT an issue either, do it.
I'd be concerned about health risks though...There are a lot of people around that have defects even from birth and really serious image issues that should be operated on ASAP...
For myself, I found some bulging skin underneath my buttock....on my stomach..arms....I'd love to have someone take out all the extra skin that doesn't need to exist anymore
I do find though that the more fit I am the less I care about what other people think about my appearance and more about how I feel.
Let's make our goals in the meantime

I had lipo. on my inner thighs, lower back, outer thighs...basically my whole lower body!! Very, very painful!! I chose to do it because i had the "problem areas" i could not get rid of, after the consultation, i decieded to do it, i had great results!! But yes, it does NOT lower your body weight, exercise and proper diet after are very important!! I would def. do it again!
  • I think once you have hit your goal and have changed the way you eat so that there is less chance of you gaining it all back that there is nothing wrong with plastic surgery. I am going to do it. I am hoping that my skin will bounce back but lets be real here. The older you get the less likely that will happen. I have a goal for the fall that I will then go in for a consultation and go from there. After having kids and gaining I know I will have excess skin to get rid of that and I am hoping my boobs disappear somewhat so I can have them lifted a bit too!!!

About 4 years ago I had a 13 pound tumor removed from my ovaries, which is like carrying a large baby around. They estimated that I had the tumor for years. Needless to say, after I had the tumor removed there were extra skin on my belly, plus a horrible scar that ran from my belly button straight down to my pelvic bone. The next couple of years after the tumor was gone I lost about 50 pounds due to healthier eating and exercise. This compounded with the removal of the tumor caused much extra skin. I seeked help from a plastic surgeon.

I did a lot of research and had initial consultation with 3 surgeons in my area. These are 3 that were recommended by friends and family. One of these 3 was highly recommended by a couple of doctors that I know and other people in the medical community. After I had the consultations I decided on the one doctor that was recommended by my doctors, she incidently was the only one in my area that would do the proceedure in my local hospital instead of her local office. Because of the massive amount of skin that had to be removed, I felt better being in the hospital. She also does proceedures in her office, but agreed that because of the amount of skin that must be removed, she felt better that I went to the hospital as well so that I can be monitored the first night. This procedure in the hospital was $4000 more than the other quotes that I received due to the hospital stay, but my concern at that time is not for money, it was for safety.

I spoke with my doctor as well about the extra skin hanging from my tri-ceps and quadraceps as well, and some extra on my buttocks, these are all due to weight loss. She told me that it sometimes take about a year or two after the weight loss for the skin to tighten up, she recommended that I don't get the procedure done on those areas until at least a year or more after the weight loss to let the skin naturally tighten up.

I am 47 years old and I was sure that my skin would not tighten up. But let me tell you, it did. I still have a little hanging from my tri-ceps and quadriceps, but not much and I can live with that. I'm hoping in time that it will continue to tighten up so that I don't have to go through the money and pain. The skin on my buttocks have really tightened up so that I no longer worry about it. As a matter of fact, I'm proud to say that on my last vacation I was voted to have the nicest butt from all my friends, that's saying a lot since all of them are younger than I am and some are body builders.

I am a person that does a lot of research before making decisions, I have spoke with 3 surgeons on this issue as well as my primary physician, my Oncologist and countless medical professionals. I did not make this decision lightly. If you want more information from me, please feel free to send me a message. I will be glad to help you find the information you need.

I truly don't think that I will need any more skin tucks, my next procedure...move the girls up.
  • I am having breast augmentation surgery in March. After living with only half a boob for 10+ years, I finally decided that it was time for me to do the surgery. That is one of the reasons that I wanted to achieve my goal weight so that I would actually notice a difference after the surgery. I personally feel that if having any type of plastic surgery will make a significant difference in your life then go for it. I have had mixed reviews from people who I have discussed this surgery with and I finally realized that I am doing it for myself and if other people don't agree with my decision then oh well.

I am going to have a boob job. My husband and I have already talked to a surgeon. I breast fed both my kids. My son for 6 months and 9.5 years later my daughter for 1 year. When I reach my goal and hold it, I will have this done.

I have considered it once I am down to the weight I want to be at and once I am done having kids. I am pear shaped and if I still have alot of fat on my legs, I would get lipo or try mesotherapy first. I am scared to death of being put under and going under the knife though so I will have to do LOTS of research and thinking before I commit... and of course have the money!

I have considered a masopexy after I have lost all my weight and have kept it off for a year but I have to wait and decide once my body has reached maintenance for a year and I have really thought about whether the pros and cons of surgery still appeal to me.

It is a personal decision that we have to make for ourselves. I will absolutely have it if I end up with flap jack boobs after all is said and done!

And for those of you wondering a masopexy is a breast lift that uses your own breast tissue to "rebuild" the breast. I really really really don't want implants, I don't like the way they look on most women, and from what guys tell me it's like feeling up a water balloon and I know a few women that have them and they are not happy with them now that they are about 10 years in. LIke I said personal choice.

I've wanted a tummy tuck for years, but have decided against it. I had to have medically necessary abdominal reconstruction last summer (multiple hernias, one of which was "incarcerated", so no time to bring in a plastic surgeon for additional work). The recovery was wicked. And this was just a year after having a low back fusion surgery with a very long recovery. I won't go through that again voluntarily!

I agree recovery will be horrible. I had a hystorecomy a couple years ago and had to have a bikini cut. For a couple days I thought I was going to die. But my lower tummy is so bad that I would be willing to go through it again.
