accuracy of garmin FR70 heart rate monitor

I just got an new heart rate monitor (with a chest strap). I knew that my old Suunto was not picking up my heart rate consistently which was therefore not giving me an accurate calorie count but I am amazed that many of my workouts have increased my calorie burning by as much as 100 calories sometimes. Anyone have any experience with this monitor? I just want to make sure it is not overestimating somehow. I inputed my height, weight, age and all that. I am pregnant right now and I have noticed that even with my old monitor I was burning more than I used to (I attributed that to weighing more?)
Thanks,
Thanks,
