Before calorie counting...

I often wonder what happened before we started calorie counting. When I think of how babies eat..... they open wide when hungry and become tight lipped when satisfied.

Anyway... decided to Google it for some information and came across this link...

    thanks for the post! It can totally be done, but we're so screwed up by restaurants/junk - if we didn't grow up mostly being served sensible portions in sensible increments of wholesome foods, we're bound to not have any intuitive understanding of it. And even if we did (I generally feel I did), it's not a natural function to keep a kind of tally going in the brain and not know when a bit extra becomes a thousand extra calories in a week or whatever... off to read your link!

    I lost almost all my weight without counting (before I joined MFP) so I know it can be done. I like logging for the nutritional information though.

    Pretty good read... Calorie counting is just the start, once you have made the life change and committed there really isn't a need anymore to do so...
