Too much protein?

I keep going "over" in my protein allotment for the day. Is this something to be worried about?

Are they the pre-set amounts on MFP? If they are, I wouldn't worry about it. The protein amounts are a bit low, inho. :)

If your diary settings are the presets on MFP than no. It is really way to low and going over it won't do much for you. I just changed mine a bit so I can hit 120g per day.

I believe the ratio on protein is 1g per 1lb of lean body mass.- don't quote me on that though. I had someone with more knowledge help me figure out my ratios!

Yes, too much protein is how we got the SuperAIDS virus. Sorry to hear your misfortune, my condolences to your next of kin.

On a completely (I promise) unrelated note (no really), did you know if you search for "too much protein", you get 50 full pages of results from just the last 2 months?

    Bwahaha!

I always wondered how superaids got started. Is it true you can contract syphillis from a high-protein diet? My thoughts: YES!

not at all! it will just help your body to build muscle faster (which is really what we all want), so i think you're good. i usually get 1.5 to 2 times my allotment but i work out a lot and am really working on putting on muscle. and it's working - yay!

As long as you don't have kidney problems, high amounts of protein isn't bad.

The suggested range is pretty much always too low unless you reset it. 1g protein per pound BW is good, more than that is better. You're not going to run into problems unless you're like 3x that, or the amount of protein you're getting is causing you to get too many calories (calories from protein can still be turned to fat).
