I find my daily goals for protein always in the red by 20-30. Can you have too much protein in your diet? It doesnt seem like I am eating a lot of protein and I dont go out of my way to eat more protein. Nothing else is in the red except an occasional fat gram or 2. I am all axious about it please advise!

Don't worry about it. Just stay on your goal calories and watch the fat and carbs, forget about the protein.,0 -
MFP's default for protein is dreadfully low at only 15% of total calories. As long as you're meeting your daily calorie limit don't worry about going over.
For this very reason, many MFP members choose to customize their macro percentages (and other stuff). You do this by going to My Home>>Goals>>Change Goals>>Custom. Remember to save your changes.
I have my macros set at 45/30/25 carbs/protein/fat. It's much more balanced. Plus I exercise 4-6 times per week so I need more protein. If I still go over on protein, I consider that a good thing, 30% is the minimum I need. Protein also helps you feel full longer. While you're on the customizing screen, I recommend increasing your fiber to at least 25g and decreasing your sodium to 1800-2200mg, the lower the better. You can also choose which things shows up in your diary tracking. Go to Settings in the top right corner of the Home page and choose "diary settings".0 -
Unless you have problems with your kidney function, you should be fine going over in your protein! And, as long as you're within your calorie goals, you should still lose! No worries!0

My protein is always pretty heavily in the red. The standard carb amount seems extremely high. I'd customize my setting but I'm not really sure what it should be. I know Atkins is 20/day and MFP is suggesting around 160/day so I avg it and keep it around 90-100.0

My protein is routinely over as well by 20-30 grams. I lift heavy 3 days a week so I actually prefer it that way. As long as your calories are in line, don't worry about it too much. Alot of experts believe the RDA of protein is actually a little conservative anyway, but lots of opinions on that, LOL0
