Increasing daily steps

I recently had surgery on my ankle and have been approved for walking. I have been walking now unassisted for about 2 weeks now. I recently purchased the fitbit to track my steps. When I started using it the first 3 days I averaged 2640 steps. So I set that as my daily goal until I have reached it for a week straight, then I would slowly increase it by a few hundred steps or so. Well, I have since exceeded my goal in the past 2 days to over 5000 steps. I have started walking on my breaks, and I walk on the treadmill for 10 mins during my lunch, then I walk again for about another 10 mins when I get home. I have noticed that today, I am more hungry than normal. I have switched to 6 or 7 mini meals throughout the day. I make sure that there is some protein in each meal. I aim to keep each mini meal between 200-300 calories. Should I eat back my exercise calories if I'm trying to lose weight? What do you do?
