I don't expect much from anyone by posting this and I'm usually not the kind to post long messages about anything but this is something that needs to be heard and passed along. Do with it what you will- If you so desire please pass it along to other people and spread the world, we're hoping to get the attention that would make a difference. I would greatly appreciate your prayers for this family and I know that they would as well. If you can think of anything they could possibly do to seek out help for their situation please let me know and I will pass it along to them. These are people I personally know and consider family, this is a real story and this really going to happen unless we can find a way to fight against this court ruling.
The story in Summary:
I am trying to get the word out about 3 young children, U.S. Citizens, who are being deported to a hostile 3rd world country. How can a law meant to protect our U.S. citizens be used to put them in danger?
Did you know that the Hague Convention treaty trumps U.S. law? This law was originally designed to protect U.S. Citizens and is now being used against them.
These three young children, 2 girls and 1 boy are U.S. Citizens. Their mother was born in the United States. She met and married a Canadian citizen while attending college in California. Following college they went to Zimbabwe as missionaries where they served for the past several years. All the children are U.S. Citizens and 2 of them were born in the United States.
In 2009, she and her husband moved to the U.S.A. to work on their marriage. After 2 years, he refused to pursue proper channels for immigration and was deported by I.C.E. The children remained in the U.S.A. with their mother. Their mother has a home and a job. The kids are doing very well in school and love living in the home of their citizenship.
In a recent court decision, a county judge ruled that the Hague convention trumped the rights of this mother and her children. She ordered that the mother incur thousands of dollars of expense to return these children to Zimbabwe where their father resides.
Women and children are considered property of the man in Zimbabwe. The mom will have no rights to see her children ever again. In fact, she won't even be able to get a divorce unless her husband allows it. If she steps foot out of the airport terminal he could have her arrested for keeping the kids in the United States against his wishes, even though he was the one who broke U.S. law and was subsequently deported from our country. Again, these are the rights of U.S. Citizens that are being sent to a hostile country and separated from their mother.
The father has stated that he will revoke his children’s US citizenship once they are in Zimbabwe so they will NEVER be able to get aid from our country. The kids are all US citizens yet this law supersedes US law. They are literally being deported to a third world country. The US Embassy recommends people not even go there because of the disease and violence! The children do not want to return to this violent country, and wish to remain in the U.S.A., the country of their citizenship, and live with their mother.
How can we allow this to happen? Speak up! Send this to your legislators and to your senators. Bombard your congressman and your media outlets. Blast it on social media and blogs. Question how a law meant to protect our citizens is being used to put them in danger.
This story was aired on KSFO this morning, March 28, 2012. More information is available from the station and on their Facebook page.
If you would like the link to the radio interview to hear it for yourself let me know and I will post that as well. My heart is breaking for this family, I just don't understand how something like this is being allowed to happen.

I have no idea but it is awful! There has to be some way she can fight against this but so far everything they have tried has been trumped by this treaty. It just doesn't seem right or fair at all! Thank you for passing it along! Anything helps!0
